I'm back at it.

So after breaking my foot.....again and my mothers stroke, I haven't been very creative at all.  I am finally back at it. I am working on a pair of socks, a doll for a friends daughter and a few other ideas rolling around in my head.  I have also started planning my next beading project.  I will be posting pics of things tomorrow so everyone can see what I am working on.

What are all of you working on? Show me some pics of your creativity. I would love to see what everyone is working on.

               Happy Crafting!!

Thanksgiving Week!!!

It's Thanksgiving week....YAY!!!   I don't have to cook on Thursday because we are going to my sisters house, but I will have to cook on Saturday at our house....but just for the four of us...and 3 cats. So during this week I have been knitting some Christmas presents. I finished a pair of socks and cast on another pair. Can you tell how much I love knitting socks?

I have some other Christmas gifts that I will be casting on today. A few of them are from Tiny Owl Knits....one of my favorite knitting books right now. I love the whimsical and unique patterns, and they are easy to follow as well. I should be able to get everything done in time for Christmas....I hope. (Fingers crossed).

I will be spending tomorrow joyfully knitting and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. One of these years I will actually attend the parade, as it has been a dream of mine for quite some time. Well....back to it. These Christmas gifts aren't going to knit themselves.

Does anyone have any Christmas knitting they are hoping to have done in time? I would love to hear about what everyone else is working on.  Maybe it isn't even knitting. Maybe some of you are into other crafts. I would love to hear about those too.

Happy Thanksgiving
and
Happy Crafting!

Impatiently waiting.

I ordered some amazing yarn from https://www.facebook.com/knitmonayarn/  but it isn't here yet. So I bought this sock yarn today while I wait for my beautiful Christmas sock yarn.

It's sort of a denim, cream and navy color mix. This will make a nice pair of socks....for me. I'm totally keeping this pair for myself. Now I just have to find the right pattern for them.

       Stay warm.....and happy crafting.

Another pair done.

Another pair of socks finished. The pattern is Hermiones everyday socks. I can't tell you what the yarn is. It's been in my stash for a while and the label fell off. I love how it worked up.  Onto another pair....I just have to decide what color.

Halloween is over so bring on Christmas!! What about Thanksgiving?

It seems lately that as soon as Halloween is over, you go right to Christmas. I feel that Thanksgiving is overlooked most of the time. Is it because Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful? Do people really not want to have to look at their lives and take stock in the things they have......which also reminds them of the all the things they don't have? Has society gone crazy with the commercialization of the holidays that they forgot what they really mean?

Thanksgiving is more than stuffing yourself with turkey, with all the fixings, and pie....Oh the pies!!
Between the mad dash to make sure you have a Halloween costume that your child just has to have and the Christmas shopping for just the right toy, that you child just has to have, is Thanksgiving. The red headed step child of the Holiday season.

I think this year we should all just take a moment to breathe......some may need more than just a moment, so go a head and get out your oxygen and relax for a bit. Every person on this planet has something, maybe a tiny something, but we all have something we are thankful for. Lets celebrate those things, whether big or small.

Things I am thankful for

1. God. I would be nothing without his unfailing strength and love.

2.  My family. they may drive me crazy sometimes, but they're mine and I love them.

3. My friends....where to even begin? My friends who are supportive, loving, kind and stronger than even they are aware of sometimes.

4. My ability to turn yarn and two sticks and turn it into something amazing.
(It's also a post apocalyptic skill.....so bring on the zombies)

What are some of the things you are thankful for?
